My philosophy
My teaching philosophy incorporates different strategies from both Wong and Love & Logic. I believe it is important for procedures and routines to be established early in the year to have an effective and successful school year. I believe that each student is wonderfully unique and important. This is something I try to reflect in each of my lessons. In my classroom, I will focus on creating relationships with my students. I will incorporate techniques that help students develop a better self-concept and that encourages them to handle the consequences of their own behaviors. I want my students to have a voice in the classroom and to know that their opinions matter to me. My goal is to foster student involvement and cooperation in all classroom activities. I believe that this will help to create a productive working environment. Through classroom routines and procedures, I will work to maintain a classroom that thrives on organization and respect.
Classroom Management
My classroom management plan is very similar to my teaching philosophy, as I know all students are unique in how they learn. It is important that I incorporate different strategies into my classroom to help each of my students succeed. In my classroom, I will make a point of having open and honest communication with all of my parents and students. I will also have classroom promises that will serve as guidelines for behaviors and attitudes in the classroom. Attached below is my classroom management plan. In this document, I discuss how I plan to incorporate different strategies to increase parent involvement in addition to student involvement and achievement.
