About me
Hello! My name is Carolyn Wick. I am a student at the University of Mary majoring in Elementary Education and minoring in Special Education. I will graduate in Spring 2021. Through the University of Mary, work, and volunteering, I have gained experience with students of all ages. From these experiences, I am confident in my career choice of being a teacher as I love working with kids! I look forward to having my own classroom in the near future. Education has always been important to my family and me; being the daughter of a teacher, I have spent a lot of time in the classroom. Some of my favorite memories growing up were my sisters and me helping my mother and her colleagues set up their classrooms each year.
Family is also very important to me. I love to spend time with my sisters and cousins whether we are baking, playing card games, or just hanging out! I truly believe that the people I surround myself with make me be a better person. I have learned a lot about collaboration, communication, and trust through my friends and family. I believe that all of these life lessons will be very beneficial as I start my career in education.
I also love to travel. I love to learn about new people, explore new places and the history behind each city or landmark. I believe that the people in each new city I visit have their own story to tell. In the future, I want to incorporate and inspire my love for traveling and spending time with family into my classroom.
